IDEA is an international institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance with head quarter in Stockholm. It was founded 20 years ago and today a seminar was held at the Swedish Parliament where invited guests discussed democracy, achievements and challenges in the past 20 years and prospects for the future. The former secretary general of UN, Kofi Annan, was one of the speakers and in the panel you could find former Norwegian Prime Minister Thorbjørn Jagland, now secretary general of the European Council and Margot Wallström, Swedish Foreign Ministry.
