The Eurovision Song Contest 2016 takes place in Stockholm after Måns Zelmerlöw’s victory in Vienna last year. Mobile Links are involved in the transmissions in different ways.
This week the Eurovision Song Contest has come to Stockholm and the Globe Arena. The semi-finals take place Tuesday and Thursday and the Grand Final on Saturday. Responsible for this huge event are EBU and SVT but Mobile Links are very much involved in the satellite transmissions as well. Two feeds are transmitted from the arena via satellite and fibre to make sure there are a good back-up if anything would go wrong.
We have two SNGs on site transmitting on two different satellites and one of them transmit the main feed. EBU has arranged the fibre transmissions.
The voting feed is downlinked by a 2,4 meter antenna that we have installed at the OB compound as well.
